As 2012 began, our global survey of IT and business leaders revealed that the top business benefits expected of SaaS / Cloud business solutions are reduced capital expenditure and reduced time to market / time to value. At the same time, their top concerns are in security / privacy and in the ability to integrate and manage data used by these new applications. Saugatuck believes that these two sets of data indicate two types of enterprise IT planning and management approaches. This Strategic Perspective uses data from our 2012 global SaaS / Cloud business applications survey to illustrate this, and looks at how these delineate types of IT organizations and their associated acquisition criteria.
