Saugatuck’s recent survey of IT users indicates that the decision to adopt a Cloud offering remains based most largely on perceived/desired reduction in costs. However, projecting cost reductions is problematic because just as no two clouds in the sky are identical, no two Cloud pricing structures are identical. This Strategic Perspective summarizes key insights recently published in Saugatuck’s Cloud Leadership Strategies (CLS) subscription research service, and offers guidance to Cloud vendors with regard to the Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) of Cloud IT offerings compared to traditional on-premises infrastructures.
