Session focuses on real-world cost and business value issues related to deploying On Demand solutions
Westport, CT, September 22, 2010 - On Demand is a growing phenomenon, across all customer segments - especially small-to-mid size (SME) companies. While On Demand should allow business and IT executives to save on capital investments and focus budgets on competitive advantage rather than infrastructure, there are a number of key things to be aware of to maximize your return on investment. These and other issues will be discussed at length at the upcoming one-day virtual summit, entitled "On-Demand Computing: Soaring with the Cloud," presented by MyVenturePad, in collaboration with SAP.
On Tuesday afternoon, September 28th, Saugatuck Technology founder and CEO Bill McNee will lead a panel of experts focusing on "Costs & Other Real-World Concerns" related to On Demand solutions. Joining Mr. McNee will be Deborah Farrington, Founder and General Partner, Starvest Partners; Brian Alvey, CEO, Crowd Fusion; and Albert Wenger, Partner, Union Square Ventures. They will share both their own firm's experiences leveraging On Demand technologies such as Software-as-a-Service (SaaS), as well as how customers of various portfolio companies have used it to their advantage. Key questions that the panel will focus on include:
- What are the key benefits of SaaS - what is driving demand, especially for small and mid-size companies?
- Where and how do companies save the most money? Is it merely an issue of reduced upfront capital investment, or lower total TCO due to reduced staffing and infrastructure management costs?
- What about implementation costs - are companies really saving money with SaaS vs. more traditional on-premise approaches to deploying enterprise software?
- What are some of the biggest challenges that small and mid-size companies face in maximizing their return on investment with SaaS?
"We are delighted to participate as a panel moderator at this new virtual conference event, that brings together a who's who of relevant industry experts, bloggers, business and IT user executives and venture partners," shared McNee.
