Private Clouds have been grabbing headlines for the past year or more, as several leading Cloud IT vendors – HP, IBM, VMware and now Oracle, among others – have announced hardware / software bundles intended for data centers or hosters as the makings of Private Clouds. Some in the industry say a Private Cloud is no Cloud at all, as in Marc Benioff’s pronouncement this week: "Beware the false Cloud. If you have to buy more hardware, it's not really Cloud." No doubt, these differences in viewpoint on Private Clouds vary according to the business models of Cloud IT vendors.
