Saugatuck has studied the Windows Azure platform in depth over the past 24 months and, based on this research, Saugatuck has found that the Windows Azure platform provides migrating ISVs with a highly-productive, robust and potentially cost-effective platform for delivering SaaS solutions. However, persistent design constraints and lack of certifications have challenged broader adoption of the platform, and in some cases raised deployment cost. Saugatuck highly recommends that enterprise-targeted ISVs (as well as other enterprise developers) consider exploring a relationship with a Windows Azure SI partner at this point in its evolution. This Strategic Perspective explores the key findings from six deep-dive briefings with Windows Azure ISV and SI partners, and is a companion research piece to a recently published Strategic Perspective update on Windows Azure itself.
