Executive Insights: An Interview with Greg Buoncontri, EVP and CIO at Pitney Bowes
In mid-September, Alex Bakker and I traveled to Stamford, CT and caught up with Greg Buoncontri, EVP and CIO at Pitney Bowes.
In a brief “Executive Insights” video interview posted on YouTube, Buoncontri shares his insights concerning the changing IT landscape and how the Cloud is helping to drive business innovation at his firm. In addition, he discusses how Pitney Bowes is not only consuming Cloud services for internal cost saving and process improvement, but leveraging them in the creation of customer-facing business services. Buoncontri also shares his experience in using tablets, and how they have helped unleash the Boundary-free Enterprise™ at Pitney Bowes -- up and down the organization (including the field service organization). The interview closes with best practice guidance for other senior IT leaders embarking on the journey to the Cloud.
We offer this Executive Insights video as a prelude to the exciting program we are assembling for this year's Cloud Business Summit, to be held on November 14, 2012, at the Westin Times Square in New York City. This is the third in a series of video interviews that we are producing, and posting to YouTube, as we introduce our readers to some of the speakers and panelists who will be sharing their insights and experience at the conference.
Buoncontri will be participating in the mid-morning CIO/CTO panel at the Cloud Business Summit (entitled "The Cloud and Business Innovation -- Guiding IT and the Enterprise). This one-day executive forum brings together CIOs, CTOs and senior business leaders from mid-and-large size enterprises -- across a wide range of industries -- to explore how they can and are realizing value from the Business Cloud.
