2012 Cloud Business Summit Video: Managing Risk & Reward Panel – Part II
On November 14, 2012, Saugatuck held its 2nd annual Cloud Business Summit at the Westin Times Square in New York City. As with our inaugural event, this year’s conference brought together large-enterprise CIOs, CTOs and senior business leaders to explore what is possible, what is real, and what is not in the Cloud today.
In this Featured panel entitled “Managing Risk and Reward in the Boundary-free Enterprise”, Saugatuck’s Mike West (VP and Distinguished Analyst) leads a panel of large-enterprise business and IT leaders that focuses on the key challenges, risks and expected rewards that companies are facing as they move to the Boundary-free Enterprise™ (BfE) and its enabling Master Architecture.
In Part II, our panelists continue the theme of lessons learned associated with the move to the BfE – including how best to manage risk, whether it be supplier and partner risk, technology risk (e.g., security, integrity, availability), et al. The panel also explores what it means to move more and more of the infrastructure to the Cloud, and what that means from a leverage perspective. The panel concludes with a statement that not moving to the Cloud is the biggest risk of all!
Joining West on the panel are Gary Lynch, Managing Director at Marsh, Irving Wladawsky-Berger, Strategic Advisor at Citi (and VP Emeritus at IBM), Ed Beesley, CIO at SGS, and Louis Nauges, Blogger and CIO Advisor, who was kind enough to travel from Paris, France to join in our discussion.
